Dan was born to Bert and Nora O’Leary Ryssman on the family farm in Santa Ana, California. He was the youngest of 8 siblings, always the ‘baby brother’. Growing up working on the family farm instilled a love of being outdoors in the sun and gardening, a strong work ethic and a love for family that will never end as he has passed these along to his children and grandchildren.
In high school, Dan made many life-long friendships. These friendships began many adventures leading to the fun stories the family is blessed to remember. It was also in high school that Dan made friends with a beautiful girl who would later become his best friend, Karen L Wilson. Dan and Karen were married August 1, 1959. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles temple on January 16, 1965. Dan and Karen are the parents of 5 children.

Croddy Corporation in 1964 moved him into the Mortgage Lending field which became his life’s occupation. The family moved to Yucaipa, California in 1969 and then settled in Reno, Nevada in 1977.
Dan remained an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in many capacities including teacher, counselor and scouting leader. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a beloved brother and uncle, a true and caring friend.
