Anita Marie Seitz
Anita Marie Seitz passed away on December 6, 2022. She was born in the small town of Salmon, Idaho on June 6, 1941. At the age of 13, she moved with her family to Pocatello, Idaho. Anita told many family stories of time spent on “The Ranch” with her cousins and family. She lived in Pocatello with her parents until she graduated from Idaho State University with a teaching degree. While in college, Anita belonged to the Job’s Daughters and Alpha Phi sororities where she enjoyed the sisterhood and social life. In 1964, she moved to Las Vegas and began her teaching career and met her husband Larry. They were married for 47 years until his passing in 2012. Anita was very active in her church and community groups. While her children were growing, Anita was involved in the University United Methodist Church Camp on Mt. Potosi where she was known as Mother Nature as she taught the campers about the plants and animals of the area. In later years, Anita was a sister of the PEO Sisterhood. She enjoyed belonging to the same chapter as her daughter for several years. She also belonged to Rebecca’s Circle, through UUMC, for many years. Anita enjoyed many years traveling with her husband in their motorhome up and down the Pacific Coast to Oregon, as well as the Southwest with their motorhome club. What Anita enjoyed the most was her time with her children and their families. She adored her 3 grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Schlaffman (Chris), son, Christopher Seitz (Margie) and three grandchildren, Trent Schlaffman, Erin Schlaffman (Trace Pennau, fiance) and Elizabeth Seitz, and a dear cousin Donna Bell Holesapple. Anita was loved dearly and will be deeply missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Donations will go towards their Educational Loan Fund that supports women pursuing their college education. Please send donations to her daughter at 2305 Fairbourne Way, Henderson, NV 89074 and they will be forwarded to the PEO foundation.
