Arthur J Davis

Arthur J Davis, 92, of Henderson NV passed away peacefully on March 13, 2023. He was the son of Adeline Sweeney and Oscar Davis.

He is survived by his four daughters Bonnie Davis of Oakley CA, Lisa Davis of Henderson NV, Robin Seward of San Dimas CA, and Karen Farman of Hereford AZ.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Art served two tours of duty in the Navy as a gunner, midshipman, and diver during the Korean War.  He served twelve years as a L. A. County Sheriff’s Deputy at Temple Station and later at Industry Station.  He retired from the Sheriff’s Department in 1971 due to a work-related injury that left him disabled while serving with the Special Enforcement Bureau.  His rank at retirement was Sergeant. Following his retirement from the Sheriff’s department he headed the security department at Citrus College in Glendora CA. He studied electronics and computer science and ultimately retired as an electronics specialist from the FAA, LAX division.  He moved to Florence Oregon for a few years where he enjoyed fishing and golf, but found the weather too cold and there was not enough nightlife.  He then moved to Henderson Nevada where the climate is much warmer and there was more entertainment. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, going to shows, casinos, and playing blackjack. He was a cherished son, father and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed.
