Benjamin Dean Murray

Benjamin Dean Murray, son of Revola Wilcox and Clyde Murray, was born on December 23, 1928 in Sedro Woolley, Washington and died June 14, 2017 in Sparks, Nevada. He was born early and only weighed three pounds. In his childhood, he lived in Sedro Woolley, WA, Laguna Beach, CA, Portland, OR, Nampa, ID, San Diego, CA, Tuscon AZ, and Herlong, CA. He played center in football at Herlong High School and was always lucky number eleven. Ben met and married Marguerite (Peggy) Martinez on June 25, 1949. They had three children- Russell Dean, Kathy Ann and Brenda Lynn. The family lived in Susanville, Herlong, Westwood, Quincy, and Hawthorne. Ben was a meat cutter for most of his working years. Ben and Peggy moved to Washoe Valley and then later lived in Sparks, Nevada. He also enjoyed working for Subaru and Sears. He loved people and was also a great salesman. Ben was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved talking to anybody that would listen about the gospel. Ben was a very good son. He took very good care of his mom and stepdad when they were older. He and Peggy had Owen live with them after Ben’s mom died and until Owen passed. Ben loved his family and he was happiest when they were all around (especially the babies). Ben is survived by his wife, Peggy, his son, Russell, daughters- Kathy (Scott) and Brenda (Robert). Their grandchildren from Russ- Justin (Crystal). Kathy- Staci (Amy), Scott (Julie) and Kim (Keith). Brenda- Nate (Allie), Brad and Kandice (Justin). Great grandchildren, Justin- Ryan, Elias and Lucas. Staci- Jack and Kashtyn, Scott- Allie, Emily, Rachel, and Ashley. Kim- Talisa and Kira. Nate- Lance, Shyanne, Burgandi, Natilee, and Whitney. Kandice- Vincent, Shelby, and Juliette. Preceding him in death are his parents and his grandson, Dean Murray.
