Benjamin H Harker

Benjamin H Harker 1935 – 2023 Las Vegas – Benjamin (Ben) Harker, 87, passed away on July 23^rd peacefully in his sleep. He was born in Washington D.C. on August 19, 1935, son to the late Benjamin Harker Sr. and Marian (Ostler) Shelton. Ben grew up in Salt Lake City, UT where he attended college at the University of Utah, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Early in his career, he met and married his eternal companion, Mercedes (Mercy) Aranguren in Los Angeles, California. Ben was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served faithfully in various leadership callings throughout his life. He enjoyed serving and helping others whenever possible. He was a kind, patient, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He found his greatest joy laughing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his sons Michael Harker (Kenlly) of Las Vegas, NV and Phillip Harker (Nicole) of Provo, UT, and his daughter Christine Dayton (McKay) of Rapid City, SD. His memory also remains alive in his 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held at the LDS Church located at 9580 Peace Way in Las Vegas, NV at 10:30am with a viewing prior to the service at 9:30am on Monday, August 7, 2023. Arrangements are under the direction of La Paloma Funeral Services, 5450 Stephanie St. Las Vegas, NV 89122.
