Brenda Lee Rixey

RIXEY, BRENDA LEE (Nee O’SHELL) – 64, of Las Vegas was received into the arms of our Lord on September 25th. Brenda’s passing was sudden and unexpected however she was surrounded by her loving family through a difficult time.

Brenda was born in Sasebo, Japan and traveled widely during her father’s navy service until settling for most of her life in Southern Florida until moving to Las Vegas. Brenda had a contagious laugh, bright smile, an innocent spirit and deeply loved her family.

She was an artisan hair stylist and owned a salon in Florida with her Vietnam veteran husband for many years on Estero Blvd in Ft Myers, FLA. She also had an incredible flair for style and fashion which lent to her interior design skills.

Preceded in death by her parents, Elwood Kenneth and Alma Katherine O’Shell. Brenda is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph. They were inseparable and married for 43 years. Also, surviving are her daughter, Simone and son, Dain (Kylee), three granddaughters, brother Gary (Kristine), sister Rhonda and brother and sister in-laws, nieces, and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at the home of her son and a celebration of life later in Florida.

  • It is with a saddened heart to hear of Brenda’s passing. Her family and mine were very close here in Lehigh Acres, Florida her dad Ken and mine, Norman worked for the Post Office. May she find the peace that we all seek in this life. R.I.P.

  • I am so sorry for the loss of Brenda. We went to school together growing up in Lehigh Acres, Fl. Brenda was always a well put together person, smart, kind, very friendly well liked person. I often wondered where Brenda had ended up when she left our wonderful little. She would not have recognised Lehigh today.
God Speed Brenda and RIP. I know you will be spending eternity in Gods arms. God bless you and many prayers to Gary and Rhonda and all the family from the Maggard family.
