Bud J. Wimber
Bud J. Wimber graduated from this world peacefully in his sleep early morning of August 5, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christa and 4 living children, Rebecca, Jeanette, Thomas and Bryan. He has 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He also loved his infant daughter, Annette, who passed at only 21 days old, and two adopted boys, Peter and John, now deceased.
Bud was born in Castle Dale, UT to loving parents, Ervin Alma Wimber and Birdie Leah Burraston on April 17, 1934. He attended the University of Denver, CO in 1953-55. Graduated with a BA and later received his Masters in Electrical Engineering 1966. Bud served in the Army, 63rd Engineer Combat Battalion, in 1956-58. He met and married the love of his life, Christa A. Kahl on September 4, 1959.
Bud worked at Sandia Laboratories from 1970 – 1986 and then Litton Guidance & Control Systems Division (1986-1999) until he retired in 1999.
His greatest pleasures in life were attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, playing the organ for Sacrament meetings, and playing the piano. He was a very accomplished pianist/organist. His love of the Savior and his testimony of His life and Atonement never wavered. He has always been a beacon to his family and friends and shared his testimony with them and others often.
