Calvin Williams Sr.

Be still and know that I am God – Psalm 46:10

After a long battle with lung cancer, Calvin Williams Sr., born December 28, 1924, lost the fight on May 20, 2011.  His wife Lorraine preceded him in death.  He leaves behind his daughter Calvinia Williams, two sons Calvin Williams Jr. and Nathan Levert Williams, and two grandchildren Tina Lorraine Williams and Emil Solomon Williams.  He also leaves behind one sister Mamie Peterson and a very close cousin Betty Whittaker, as well as a delegation of many other relatives across the country.

Calvin found peace in good and godly things.  He chose to do right by people even in the midst of turmoil.  He was raised by his aunt who instilled the love of God in his heart.  His love was that of God.  Both Calvin and Lorraine raised three children to strive for higher education. His profession was a painter of fifty years and he was one of the best in the profession.  He was loved and will be missed by many.

The family of Calvin Williams Sr. acknowledges the  many expressions of sympathy and concerns shown during our time of bereavement.  May God bless each of you!
