Carl Wayne Grimm
Carl Wayne Grimm (April 2 nd 1941 – January 12 th 2019), passed away after a lengthy battle with various ailments while surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his father Charles Grimm, mother Edith Wilson, brother Bob Grimm, and sister Carolyn Kaul. He is survived by his daughters; Celeste Johnson (Gary), and Cynthia Mills (Robert), and sons; Peter Grimm (Danielle), and Carl Grimm, as well as eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Carl was born and raised in Claremore, Oklahoma, where he was a true old school cowboy. He attended Claremore High School, graduating in 1960. Carl then served as a SeaBee in the US Navy from October 1960 to October 1964. He later raised his family in Oak View, California, while working various jobs in the oil fields. Ultimately, he relocated to Reno, Nevada, where he worked various security jobs. Carl was a member of the Elks Club and Lions Club in Ventura, California. He enjoyed bowling, bingo, and smoking a good cigar with his sons.
Carl was known for his ability to brighten up a room with his contagious smile, even until the very end. There were two things he loved the most in life, the first is his family, and the second is enjoying a good meal. So tonight, when you sit down to eat your meal, please say a prayer for his family and caretakers. Carl is deeply loved and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in his memory to the Reno VA hospital.

Grimm family, I am very sorry for your loss. Some of the best memories of being a kid are times getting to hang out at Peter’s house. Mr. Grimm was always so welcoming. I remember your backyard pool, getting to watch TV with your family and playing the first video game I’d ever seen (pong I think). Mr. Grimm seemed larger than life to me and I thought the Grimm kids were very lucky to have him.
