Chester Allen Baccellia (Formally Mackey)

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our father, brother, grandfather and Uncle, Chester, known to many as ‘Pops’.

Chester was born in New York, NY on March 19th, 1946 and passed away in Las Vegas, NV on February 28th, 2022. He was 75 years old.

He is survived by his three loving sisters Rhealee, Gina and Roselyn along with his five sons Bruce, Vittorrio, Giovaughn, Dimetrius and Andre plus his 9 grandchildren. Pops touched and loved so many who he also called family.

He attended Louis D. Brandeis High School and enrolled at New York University in September 1975 for Banking and Finance.

In 1966, Chester enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he would eventually serve 2 terms in the Vietnam War. Chester was always very proud of his service and the medals he was awarded.

*National Defense Service Medal

*Vietnamese Campaign Medal

*Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze stars

*Presidential Unit Commendation Ribbon

*Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon

*Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation

Chester loved being with family and friends. Was a food lover, cooking and eating and also enjoyed going to the movies, swimming, jazz and gospel music.

We lost a special one with Chester, his warm demeanor, infectious laugh and always comforting presence made him a rare person that everyone found comfort in when around him.

We love & miss you, Pops!
