Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Walden

Cindy married Randall Dempsey of Thief River Falls, Minnesota on May 8, 1976. One son, Terry Dempsey, was born to them on August 13, 1979. They divorced in 1986. Cynthia then married Michael C. Walden on January 7, 2000 after meeting as co-workers in 1994 and developing a friendship that evolved into the love of their lives.
Cindy started a forty year career in education as a teacher’s aide in Fairmount Public School, obtaining a teacher’s certificate at Mayville State University in 1988. From there, she went on to teach elementary school and special education at the middle and high school levels in Manderson, South Dakota; Ely, Nevada: Zuni, New Mexico and Taos, New Mexico. Cindy retired from teaching from Dayton High School, Dayton, Nevada due to a major illness in August of 2016.
Cindy loved to garden, hunt, fish, crochet, collect Native American art and she was especially fond of animals.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Michael C. Walden, Reno, Nevada; son, Terry Dempsey, Reno, Nevada; step-son, Eric Walden, Lubbock, Texas; mother, Carmen Kutzer, Fargo, North Dakota; brother, Barry (Sandra) Kutzer, Fargo, North Dakota; brother, Marshall (Allison) Kutzer, West Fargo, North Dakota; aunt, Jeanne Diemert, Fargo, North Dakota and numerous nephews and nieces as well as her beloved dog, Roxie.
She is preceded in death by her father, Denzil Kutzer and her grandparents. Services will be held in Fairmount, ND at a later date.
