Delbert (Del) Stan Sagers

Delbert (Del) Stan Sagers was born on Marh 18, 1948 in Cedar City, UT.  Raised in Enterprise UT, he was very athletic, playing baseball and basketball for Enterprise High School where he was also Valedictorian of his graduating class.   Del then served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the North British England mission.  After returning from his mission, he graduated from Southern Utah State College with a degree in Education. He was sealed for time and all eternity to Peggy Jeanette Smith in the St. George Temple on February 27, 1970. He is survived by his loving wife Peggy, his three children, Kimberly Fundaro, Kory Sagers (Adrienne), Kerry Sagers, and grandchildren, Taylor, Michael, Justin, Kaeley, Kolten, Tarryn, Symone, and Easton. He is also survived by his brother Elwin Sagers (Jody) and many nieces and nephews.  Del was proceeded in death by is father and mother, Standford and Mae Sagers, and his sister Sandra Cowley,

Del was a teacher with the Clark County School District for 35 years.  He was not only a dedicated teacher, but also devoted much of his time coaching baseball, basketball, bowling, and golf (where his golf teams hold the national record for most consecutive wins (144+) in any high school sport.  He was inducted into the NIAA (Nevada Interscholastic Athletic Association) Hall of Fame in 2011. After retiring from the school district, he continued his commitment to students by working as a guidance counselor for Nevada State High School.  He loved fishing, golfing, and spending time watching his grandchildren in their various extracurricular activities.  Family and his faith were always his top priorities.  Del passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 18, 2021.

Funeral Services will be held at the Green Valley Stake Center – 410 North Valley Verde Drive, Henderson, NV 89014 – Viewing at 10:00am Tuesday, July 27th, Funeral at 11:00am

Burial will be held at the Winsor Cemetery in Enterprise, Utah on Wednesday, July 28th at 1:00pm MST.

  • My thoughts and prayers go out to the Sagers family in this tough time. I have such fond memories of Del from our days of playing on various softball teams together some 40 years ago. He was always someone I looked up to and admired. Such a great person. God bless his family.

    I just googled him remembering him as my golf coach at GVHS the second year the school was open. I’m sorry to hear of his passing. On my way to the driving range and I’ll be thinking of him!
