Delbert L. Walker
Delbert L. Walker 79 years old of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away after a long illness on August 29, 2012 at home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born 01-05-1933 in Coulee, Washington, the son of the late Daynea Mae and Carlos Edward Walker. He was the second of 4 siblings. Delbert did not graduate from high school but did join the United State Air Force at the age of 17.
Delbert was a veteran and served in the U. S. Air Force as a mechanic, and retired after 21 years with full military honors. After his discharge, he was employed by Fairway Chevrolet and then Cashman Cadillac as a new car get ready manager. He retired from Cashman at the age of 55.
His interests included fishing, boating, collecting American eagle statues working on old cars and making quilts. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and taught us to use weapons but much more to be safe with them. He loved to ride dirt bikes and taught the last four daughters all how to ride. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Air Force never left him, as friends and family will attest.
Delbert daughters Valdene Weir of Las Vegas, NV; son and daughter-in-law Dan and Kathy Walker of Ventura, CA; Mary Smith of Las Vegas, NV; Debbie Chazell of Oakesdale WA; Rhonda Mitchell of Las Vegas, NV; Randy and Darla Lee of Valley Ford WA; Robin Rucker of Quapaw OK; Preceded by James Walker brother: sister Lola Baker and brother David Satterwhite. Three step children Doyne Smith, Robert Smith and Gerald Smith of Salt Lake City UT.
Delbert has 12 grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Veteran’s Cemetery in Boulder City, NV. Services will be for family members only.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial tribute may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.

I am so sorry to read of your dear loved one passing. May Psalms 34:18 bring you some comfort during this difficult time were it says ” Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart;And those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” I hope this Bible verse brings you some comfort during this difficult time.
