DILLON REID ENGLAND PASSED AWAY ON SATURDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 4TH, 2017 IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA AT THE AGE OF 83 YEARS OLD. DILLON WAS BORN JULY 15, 1933 IN IMPERIAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, THE 5TH OF 11 CHILDREN, TO JOHN J. AND NELLIE D. ENGLAND.  HE SERVED IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY IN THE 1950’S COMMISSIONED TO THE BATTLESHIP USS UNION, AND AFTER LEAVING THE NAVY STAYED IN THE NAVAL RESERVE FOR SEVERAL YEARS.  BEFORE COMING TO VEGAS, DILLON WAS ACCEPTED TO THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL, SERVING A SHORT TIME BEFORE RETURNING TO THE CONSTRUCTION FIELD.  IN 1962, DILLON MOVED HIS FAMILY TO LAS VEGAS WHERE HE REMAINED UNTIL HIS PASSING.  DURING THAT TIME, HE BUILT TWO SUCCESSFUL CAREERS: THE FIRST AS A FRAMING CONTRACTOR, RUNNING HIS OWN COMPANY.  WITH HIS STRONG CONSTRUCTION KNOWLEDGE AND PROFESSIONAL DILIGENCE, HE BUILT A SECOND CAREER AT THE AGE 50, WHEN HE ENTERED THE REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY. AS A REALOTR,  HE WORKED AT LAS VEGAS REALTY AS A COMPANY LEADER AND SALESMAN UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT.

DILLON WAS AN AVID UNLV BASKETBALL FAN AND LONGTIME BOOSTER FOR THE TEAM, RARELY MISSING A GAME.  HE ALSO LOVED OFF-ROAD VEHICLES AND AIRPLANES.  IN HIS LATE 30’s, HE RECEIVED HIS PILOT’S LICENSE, WHICH HE USED FOR FIELD-WORK  AND PERSONAL TRAVEL. KNOWN FOR HIS STRONG WILL, DRIVE AND WORK ETHIC, DILLON ACCUMULATED MANY FRIENDS OVER THE 55 YEARS HE SPENT LIVING AND WORKING IN THE LAS VEGAS COMMUNITY.  HIS SMILE WAS KIND.  HE HAD A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR AND SPOKE IN A DIRECT MANNER.

DILLON LEAVES BEHIND PRISCILLA PARKER ENGLAND, DEVOTED WIFE, BUSINESS PARTNER, AND BEST FRIEND; LOVING SISTER, IVANELL ROWLETT; BROTHER IN-LAW, BILL ROWLETT OF SAN DIEGO; BETH ENGLAND, FIRST WIFE AND MOTHER OF HIS FIVE CHILDREN: VICKEY, DIANA, THOMAS WAYNE (DECEASED), KENNETH AND DEE, WITH WHOM HE MAINTAINED A STRONG AND RESPECTFUL FRIENDSHIP; FIVE GRANDCHILDREN AND SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS.

EVEN AFTER HIS RECENT TERMINAL DIAGNOSIS, DILLON CONTINUED TO LIVE WITHOUT MISSING A BEAT, ENJOYING HIS LIFE WITH PRISCILLA, FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HE DIED WITH GRACE AND DIGNITY.  HE NEVER STOPPED PLAYING THE GAME – WIN OR LOSE – UNTIL THE VERY END. DILLON PASSED AWAY QUIETLY AT HOME WITH PRISCILLA BY HIS SIDE.  HE WILL BE BURIED AT THE ROSECRANS NAVAL CEMETARY IN SAN DIEGO.
