Eddie Jo Goodwin
Born in Reno, NV on 3/12/1942 to Carl Edwin Henrikson who was born in Sweden, and Ella Maye Harris who was born in Provo, Utah. At the age of four she moved to Springfield, AK. Eddie Jo Goodwin grew up on 180 acre farm in the Ozark Mountains, which has the most fascinating caves in the world. She attended primary school at Center Ridge, a one room schoolhouse. A fire destroyed her homestead in Springfield and she moved back to Reno, NV. Attended the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics and a Masters Degree in School Administration in 1972. Eddie Jo started her teaching career in 1965 at Clayton Middle School teaching Home Economics. Eddie Jo’s teaching career in Washoe County School District was for a span of 32 years in various positions. She was instrumental in the development of the Teacher Mentor Program. She attended many classes and workshops to remain on the cutting edge of education. A dedicated member of the Washoe Education Association an advocate for teachers rights and their responsibilities. Eddie Jo married Eddie Alston Goodwin in 1976. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She earned her Real Estate License in 1982 started out part-time moving to full-time with Reno Sierra Tahoe Realty Group, Broker Terry Rasner.
Preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Clara Kalak, Frances Long, and husband Eddie. She is survived by siblings Larry Vaughn, Inga Schalk.
Children; Crystal McCay, Andria McCay, Rose Goodwin, Edward Goodwin all of Reno, NV. Brittany Saunders (Steven), Alex and Lauren Luckadoo, Kevin McKay, Raelani, Rianna, Rachelle Kerr and Austin Goodwin.
Great-Grandson Steven Jr and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Eddie Jo was kind and caring to everyone, she was loved by so many.
