Ernest Castillo

Ernest Castillo, 81, of Henderson, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018.  Ernie retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service.  He did two tours in Vietnam and spent 11 years in Japan, where he met and married his late wife, Akiko Castillo.  After retirement, he moved to Las Vegas and was a security officer at the Landmark and Sands for 21 years.  At the time of his passing, he had been employed in security at the Luxor for 20 years.  He is survived by his wife, Monica; his daughter, Kristen (Nick) Lodhi; sons, Ernest Jr. (Paula) Castillo and Ronald Castillo; grandchildren, Kimberly, Paige, Olivia, Zak, Kayleigh and Makenzie.  Ernie will also be missed by his “furry” children, Sophie, Abby and Lexi.  Service will be at 11:30 a.m. at La Paloma Funeral Service, 5450 Stephanie St., Las Vegas.  Burial following at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
