Frank Willis Wyant

Frank Willis Wyant, 95, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at home in Las Vegas, Nevada, from natural causes. He was born near Amsden, Seneca County, Ohio to the late Charles and Anna (Dye) Wyant on September 15, 1916. He married Juanita June Hollinger on September 1, 1938 and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Frank is survived by a daughter, Lynne (Tom) Ells, Las Vegas, Nevada;
granddaughter Melanie (Cory) Hill, Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers Ray, Earl, and Wilbur Wyant, and
sisters Gladys Masamer and Rowena Hill.

Frank, better known as Willis, lived in Scott Township, Sandusky County, where
he farmed for 38 years. He was also employed by the Ohio Department of
Transportation, at the Hessville scales, from May 1966 to retirement in May 1984.
He was a 1934 graduate of Jackson-Burgoon High School.

Frank was a member of the IOOF Lodge in Risingsun. He was active in Genealogy
as Vice President, North West East of the Ohio Genealogical Society, when Seneca
County Genealogical Society was formed. He held the position of President of
the Sandusky County Ohio Kin-Hunters, Fostoria Area Historical Society, and
Southern California Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society.

Frank loved to sing, and was a member in the Fremont Community Theatre for many
years. Many of his friends and family will remember how he would burst into song
with little prompting. He was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

Frank and Juanita moved to Orange County, California in 1984 and enjoyed
watching their granddaughter grow through her school years and law school.
They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2008 to be close to their daughter and
granddaughter.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8, at 3:30 pm, at the Woodbridge
Community Church, 5000 Barranca Pkwy., Irvine, California, of which he was a
member. He will be laid to rest in the Liberty Cemetery in Amsden, Ohio.
