Frederick Charles Crossley
While surrounded by his family, Frederick Charles Crossley passed away in Las Vegas on September 29, 2018. He was born December 15, 1937 in Birmingham, England to George and Carrie Crossley. As a young man Fred became a jockey and rode at numerous race tracks in Canada and the United States. During that time he met the love of his life Marian, were married and had four children. Shortly after he retired from the thoroughbred horse racing business the family relocated to Las Vegas, NV where he was a founding member of the Boulder and Coronado Construction Company. The company developed many projects in the Henderson and Las Vegas areas during the 60’s and early 70’s. Following that endeavor, from 1975 until the late 1980’s he became general manager and eventually president of Major Riddle Enterprises which included the hotels and casinos of the Silver Bird, Silver City, Silver Nugget and Holiday International. Fred retired from Mikon Gaming in 2008. He is survived by his four children Fred, Debra, Kell and Cedair, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ernest Crossley of Henderson and sister Carol Brown of Pahrump. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be missed. His service will be held at La Paloma Funeral Services 5450 Stephanie Street, Las Vegas, NV on October 13, 2018 commencing at 11:00 am.
