  • Sincere condolences to his family. Friday was so full of life and legendary in his own time. He is sorely missed but his strong faith remains a comforter knowing he is with Jesus in Heaven.

      Hello Lynn, I just now read your comment to Mark’s Obituary in the La Paloma column. It was nice of you to respond. I remember you. You visited him in Pa and were here during the late fall or early winter some time ago. If you would like to send me your address, I will send you a memorial card. Anne

    Numbers 6:24-26New King James Version (NKJV)

    24 “The Lord bless you and keep you;
    25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;
    26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”’

    I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Friday. He is with the Lord, now, so we can all take comfort in knowing we WILL see him again, when it’s our time. Friday was such an amazing adventurer. I visited him decades ago in Alaska. Some of the adventures I was able to share included (drysuit) diving in the ocean, jetskiing in the Bering Sea, bear and moose hunting, traversing a rushing river countless times to work on an old hunting shack, and being baptized at his little church in Hope, Alaska. I pray God’s blessing on your entire family! ~Sincerely, Michele

      Hello Michele, thank you for the thoughtful remembrance you posted. It was nice to hear about Mark’s adventures with his friends. I believe I have not met you, but his brother Steve remembers you, as he was in Alaska with Mark at that time. If you will give me your address, I will send you a memorial card. Anne(Friday’s Mom)

  • The Bear lives. He shot a bear in Sitka. His Spirit was a Bear.He was called Bear. Baby Bear. He ate so much sugar he then was called Sugar Bear.
    When he came home from the slope he called himself Friday the 13 th. Papa Bear said it was bad luck for some on Friday the 13 th. He then became just Friday.
    As he matured Captain Friday was added.

    From baby bear to Captain Bear Friday was his full name.
