Garvis Freeny June 8th, 1938-February 6th, 2023
Gene Freeny, born Garvis Eugene Freeny on June 8,1938. He was the son of the late Hubbard Sr. and the late Elnora Van Zandt. He departed this earthly life on Monday, February 6, 2023, at the age of 84.
Our beloved father passed after a long battle with multiple illnesses. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Gene is survived by his Siblings: Hubbard Freeny Jr. & Kay Tyson, his four children: Bianca Alsip-Freeny, Garvie’a Freeny, Karen Fletcher & Gene Freeny jr., his grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Gene was greatly & deeply loved by many and those that knew him fell in love with his charismatic charm, ability to laugh at life’s shortcomings and larger-than-life personality. Gene loved football, basketball, music, world news, witty banter, fishing, sweets, great food, cooking and always loved the greater things in life.
Our father will be greatly missed however, we are at peace that he is no longer suffering. This is not “goodbye” this, simply put is “see you later”.
Dad, we hope you are having a huge homecoming party with your parents, friends and siblings that have passed before you. You are divinely & profoundly loved.
