Gary L. Fagg

Gary L. Fagg, our beloved father, brother, and husband, 79, passed away January 27, 2022 peacefully at Sunrise Hospital from complications following a bypass for a blood clot.

He was born July 2, 1942 in Murray, UT to John Hugely and May Louise Lehnherr Fagg. He married and was sealed to Nelda Campbell on October 25, 1963 in the St. George, UT LDS temple. He was father to and is survived by his 11 children, 19 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Plus, he was always willing to become Father or Grandpa to new friends, both young and old. He is also survived by Nelda, his loving wife of 58 years, and his siblings, Jack Wayne, Maryanne, and LuJean. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his sister, Connie Williamson.

Gary was a skilled mason, builder, and all around handyman. He was a Horace Mann Insurance agent and a beautician. He worked with people all his life in various positions, from pest control sprayer and Sears refrigerator salesman, to Walmart and Home Depot paint specialist, and he always tried to make everyone smile.

Dedicating years of his life to serving the communities he lived in and loved, both Hatch, UT and Parkdale in Las Vegas, NV, Gary held many religious callings over the years, most notably as a member of the Seventy in the 80s. He enjoyed his time served most as a leader in the Boy Scouts. He was on the Owl Patrol in the Woodbadge Program. He spent many summers leading bike rides across state lines, or helping scouts earn badges at Scout Camp or Mountain Man Rendezvous.

Some of his hobbies were hoarding old cars and promising to fix them up, recycling and reloading shotgun shells, collecting aluminum cans, raising chickens, and managing the upkeep of two homes. In 2018 and ‘19 he won awards at the Garfield County Fair for his recycled barn wood birdhouse and garden tool wind chime. He was a poet and singer and loved to tinker around and find things to fix.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 11:30AM-12PM and a Memorial Service at 1PM in Las Vegas (PST) on February 4, 2022 at and in Hatch on February 5, 2022 at the same times (MST). By request, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to the family for funeral costs and travel expenses.
