Gisela Ilse Avants

Gisela Ilse Avants passed away peacefully in her home on 12/4/2022 with family by her side. Gisela was born on May 9, 1941, in Schneeberg, Germany where she was raised with her siblings. She came to the United States in search of a new adventure, and she succeeded. Her intention to return home to Germany changed upon arriving to the United States where she lived a full and happy life. She started in Utah and moved to California before finally settling in Las Vegas to start her own family. Gisela spent her life taking care of others, beginning at an early age by caring for children in Germany and continuing her calling by caring for others in their homes here in Las Vegas. She always gave 100% of herself and completed every task she set her mind to. She loved the quiet art of cross-stitch, Sudoku, Liberty puzzles, and traveling. She spent countless hours in her garden, which was her pride and joy. Gisela is preceded in death by her parents Kurt and Ilse and her brother Gunter. Gisela is survived by her sister Heidrun Arnold and her husband Bernd, her son Lynn Avants and his wife Alexandra, her daughter Kim Woodfield and her husband Michael, and her grandchildren Molly and Ava. She was a beloved Mom, Oma, and friend and we will remember her courage, her strength and love for her family and friends every single day.

In lieu of a traditional memorial service, Gisela asked that we remember her. She is home with her family and friends in heaven.
