Janet Louis Barrow
Born June 17, 1976
Ascended to Heaven July 2, 2023
Janet was born on June 17, 1976, in New York City. She was the daughter of Martha and Joe Louis Barrow. She was the youngest of a beautifully blended family of eight. Being bound by her disability at an early age of 15 months, she defied all medical odds, living over 45 years past what doctors said was possible. Janet was “Unconditional Love “in the flesh! Her life was evidence of GOD and His everlasting Love.
Janet deeply loved her family and cherished their time dancing, playing music, and singing to her. She loved to share her smile with those who cared for her. When visiting her, Janet would be so excited when the CNAs would ask her, “Who’s the big sister and who’s the little sister” pointing to herself. She would be extra happy to see her brother-in-law, Sean; she would wink and flirt with him as the room would fill with laughter. Janet loved to hear the Happy Birthday song being sung even if it wasn’t her Birthday. Janet was so much more than a good daughter, sister, and aunt; she was a beautiful soul with light in her smile and love in her bones. The world will be much dimmer without her.
Janet loved so many people and was loved by so many more. Her spirit carried an infectious light that made you want to run to her. She was the kind of girl whose light had no off switch.
She will always be remembered for how she made us all feel loved despite all our flaws. We would often catch her staring up to Heaven, talking to all the Angels, and now she is among them, bringing everlasting joy.
Janet was proceeded to Heaven by her parents, Martha and Joe Louis Barrow, her sister Jacqueline (Jackie) Barrow, and her two nephews, Furious and Champ. Janet leaves behind seven nieces (Nia, Julia, Lyric, London, Taryn, Lively, and Legacy) and four nephews (Limmie, Sean, Miles, and Asher). She also leaves her three sisters (Candice, Amber, and Joyce), three brothers (Joe, Jo Jo, and John), and a host of cousins who miss her dearly. We will see you soon, have a dance for us.
