Janet Tolman Gulbransen

Janet Tolman Gulbransen, 82, died Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Las Vegas.  She was born in Murray, Utah on May 28, 1937.  She was a 61-year resident of Las Vegas.  She was a long-time member and leader of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Purple Sage Camp in Cark County.  She was an owner of a craft business for many years and worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at her husband’s auto repair garage both in Las Vegas.  She was the organist for her congregation in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many decades and provided countless hours of service over the years in the Church’s Relief Society organization.  After the death of her husband, Alonzo Lamar Gulbransen in late 2000, she served weekly in the Las Vegas Temple until she retired at the age of 79.

She is survived by her four sons, Mark Gulbransen and Dale Gulbransen both of Las Vegas, Nevada, Steven Gulbransen of Ogden, Utah, and David Gulbransen of Fairview, Texas; two sisters, Linda Nuttall of Taylorsville, Utah, and Karen Losser of West Jordan, Utah; one brother, Keith Tolman of West Valley, Utah; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 9-10 am on Friday, July 5 with a funeral service to follow beginning at 10 am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 1101 North Pecos Road in Las Vegas.  Burial will follow on Saturday in Richfield, Utah.

    You have my deepest sympathy for your loss. May God provide you with comfort during this grievous time and he promises a better future. Revelation 21:3, 4 God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
