Janet Wilcken-Mooney

June 24, 1944 – October 4, 2023

Las Vegas, Nevada

 

Janet (Jan) Wilcken-Mooney passed away on October 4, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 79.  She was born on June 24, 1944 in McAllen, Texas and was raised in Fresno California.

 

Janet loved all animals, especially her cats.  She loved the mountains with pine and redwood trees, streams, and lakes.  Janet was also an excellent cook and loved spending time in her flower garden.  She was a very selfless person and loved everyone.

 

Janet is survived by her 3 brothers Wayne, Rex, and Ray Wilcken and by her husband, Tim Mooney who she loved and adored.  They were married September 9, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they loved to spend time together traveling in the great outdoors.

 

She is also survived by her children Lisa Luke (Mike) of Herriman, UT, Brad Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Brian Johnson of Las Vegas, NV and Jennifer Johnson of Las Vegas, NV.  She was the proud Grandmother of Lindsay, Lacey, Cole and Serenity, and Great-Grandmother of Kannon, Kenidee, Nivay and Jesley.

 

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Wilcken, her brothers Carl & Mark and her sisters Joy & Ruth.

 

Services for Janet will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 11am at the LDS Church located at 1707 S Sloan Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89142.

  • Though I had had never met Janet I sincerely knew her through her husband Tim, he was always talking about all the great times they had and how much he loved her, she will be dearly missed and thought about by so many people she had touched. Rest in peace Janet and fly to the angels now, you’re home baby!

      Janet was loved by all and truly missed. We enjoyed our travels throughout the southwestern states together. I always admired her for her love of knowledge and books!
