Jesse Hulen Carter
Jesse Hulen Carter, 93, of Sparks, Nevada passed away on April 28, 2019 unexpectedly at his home. Jesse was born in Moberly, Missouri. He is survived by his sons, John S. Carter (Steve), Daniel J. Carter, Michael P. Carter and Joel W. Carter. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and his feline friend, Thomas.
Jesse left Moberly and moved to Davenport, Iowa where he graduated high school. From there he went into the United States Marine Corp. He served his country from 1943 to 1946. Jesse served in many campaigns during his service. On October 25, 1945, Jesse participated in the Surrender of Japanese Forces in Tsingtao, China. Jesse also participated in action against the enemy at Peleliu, Palau Islands. He obtained the rank of Corporal and had special military qualifications as a Field Lineman. He was honorably discharged on May 3, 1946. Following Jesse’s discharge, he returned to Davenport. Jesse’s journey took him to the San Francisco Bay Area, Burlingame, Aptos and Norden, California. His journey eventually ended in Sparks, Nevada.
All who met Jesse became his friend. Jesse was married numerous times in life. During his career, he established and operated successful air freight companies in Burlingame, California, Golden Gate Air Freight and Golden Gate Terminals. He eventually sold the companies and continued his journey that ended in Sparks, Nevada.
Jesse had numerous passions in life. They were golfing and snow skiing. In recent years, his main passion was dancing and gardening. He was a member in good standing at the Senior Dance Club of Nevada, where many of the members loved and adored him. He was also a member for numerous years in the Disable American Veterans Association and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Jesse was a dear and devoted father to his sons. If any of them was to need anything, Jesse was the first to get in line to help. This type of caring continued with his close friends of the Dance Club. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He touched so many lives on his journey here and will be most remembered for his kindness and giving heart.
