Jesus Borja Hernandez was born in Uruapan, Michoacán, Mexico and came to the United States of America in 1947. He resided in Tulare, CA, where he met his wife, Mrs. Jenny M. Hernandez. They were married in 1953 and celebrated their 63rd Anniversary last November. Reverend J. Hernandez was a faithful minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ for 55 years. He was initiated and ordained as a minister in San Jose, California, through the Apostolic Assembly Church. He then moved to Texas where he pastored 34 years, and started and grew a church in South Houston, TX. Upon his retirement at 82 years of age, he moved and shared his later years with his wife, children, and grandchildren in California until his recent move to Las Vegas where he enjoyed his last days with family until his passing.
Jesus is survived by his wife, Jenny, his son, George Hernandez (and wife Gloria), his daughter, Rosalinda Perkey (and husband Daniel), daughter, Helen Pettit (and husband David), son, Eli Hernandez (and wife Kathy), and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jesus was a kind, loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, pastor, and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Dolores Borja Hernandez.

Home-going services will be 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Christian Life Center Church, 2675 S. Lamb Blvd, Las Vegas, NV. On Friday, January 20, 2017, an additional service will be held at 11:00 AM at Peace Way Christian Center, 7570 Peace Way, Las Vegas, NV. Jesus Hernandez will be laid to rest following the service at the Davis Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV. I am sorry that you are grieving the passing of Mr.Jesus. I, too, am Christ’s follower and teaching people to accept and learn to love God and his Son. Please accept my sincere sympathy, as death is really an enemy of life. I hope you will find some comfort in Jesus Christ’s promise of the resurrection, when those who are sleeping in death, will be raised up, and restored back to life. (John 5:28, 29; Acts 24:15) May the words from these scriptures help ease your pain as I lost with my own grandmother recently too.
Dad, Thank you for living a full life loving and serving God. You were so kind, loving, giving and encouraging to us and others. Thank you for leaving a legacy for us to continue. I will miss you immensely. But I know that one day I will see you again. Until that day……I love you dad!
