John Joseph Amendola
John Joseph Amendola, (Giovanni Giuseppe), slipped away peacefully at the age of 84 on November 25th, 2017 after fighting a series of challenging heart issues. John was born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 1st, 1933 to Rose (Moretti) Amendola and Angelo Amendola. He is survived by his wife Judy (Lowers) Amendola and 2 children John “Sonny” Amendola and Maria Deschamps Amendola-Kidnie. He is greeted in heaven by his son Anthony Amendola. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christina Amendola, Megan (Amendola) Quintana, Sebastien & David Deschamps, and Angelo Amendola, as well as many great-grandchildren, including: Milo, Frida Jeanne, April, Allie, Manuel, Hope & Grace (twins) Timothy and Juliette. John was a Graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology majoring in printing and photography. John served in the US Army stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. John worked with his father and family at Amendola Printing on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls for several years, then headed out west. He owned and operated car sales and rental companies in Reno, Nevada. He was semi-retired, self-employed & owner of John Amendola Advertising Specialties, catering to several Las Vegas casinos. He was an active poker player, played and won many tournaments. John was the organizer for the Niagara Falls Picnic in Las Vegas. If you were a friend of John’s, you knew that he would take the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. His kindness and generosity will be deeply missed. We believe the world will never know a better man than him. Services will be held on Thursday November 30th at 2PM at La Paloma Funeral Services, 540 Stephanie St. Las Vegas 702-732-7070. A reception will be held immediately after the service for friends and family, until 5PM.

There was only one man like John and that was John himself. Loving husband and father, plus a good friend to more than anyone can count. I will always remember of him as being a gracious and giving individual. There is no doubt is will be greatly missed by many of his family and friends. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and all those who were fortunate enough to call him their friend. Peace be with you for eternity John.
