Johnny Awe

Johnny (John) Awe, 63, of Gardnerville, NV passed away on February 2, 2023. He was born June 1, 1959 in Encino, CA to Mary Francis Jacques and Johnny Carl Awe. He was preceded in death by his father Johnny Carl Awe and brother Gregory Troy Awe. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah and her husband AJ FitzPatrick, son, Dylan and his wife Courtney Awe; Grandsons, Albert FitzPatrick and Justin Awe; sister Laura (Jeff) Brinker;  half-sister Traci (Kim) Merrill; sister-in-law, Leila Bost; niece, Shannon Merrill; nephews, Luke Coe and Ryan Merrill. John moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1991 to work in the booming market as a Carpenter. John was great at his craft. He worked many years in the Teamsters Union. John loved the outdoors. He loved to surf, boat, fish, and ride dirt bikes or ATVs. He spent many of his days at Lake Mead outside of Las Vegas. John moved to Gardnerville, NV in 2017 to escape the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. Once in Gardnerville, John spent lots of his time enjoying Lake Topaz and Lake Tahoe. He loved spending time with and holding his grandsons. John was a name known around town for being the life of the party. He was a loving and helpful man to anyone whom needed it. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alcoholics Anonymous. https://contribution.aa.org

  • John was the life of the party. He came to False Rhythms practices and jams when he could he was always so nice and welcoming. I’m going to miss seeing him around. He was a good guy. Such a funny an amazing soul.

    John was an amazing person who changed my life. I know from our many talks it was his life experiences that made him the man he became. We both made mistakes in our relationship but it never stopped us from being the best of friends. I know you are now enjoying your reward for a life well lived. Love you always.
