Josefa Diaz

Josefa Diaz, born May 23, 1929 in Havana, Cuba in which she married Rafael “Montelongo” Diaz and gave birth to Maria Adela Diaz, Rafael Diaz, Ricardo Diaz. The family moved to Las Vegas, NV. In the year 1963 to start their own business to be known as the 1st Cuban restaurant owners in Las Vegas. La Familia opened in the year 1983 followed by Rincon Criollo and ended with Dona Fefa. She was a very well-known strong Woman who loved to sew, she specialized in curtains, dresses and more, she loved to cook, have family together, she was a total package the life of any party. After the passing’s of her husband and sons she taught our family how to be strong as she was the rock to our family. She lived a very long and beautiful life she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2014. Fefa is survived by her daughter Maria Diaz and granddaughters Roxsana Mora, Adela Diaz and many great grandchildren, as well as loving friends and family her beautiful soul laid to rest on January 11, 2019 at 9:50 am she passed peacefully in her sleep in the comfort of her daughters’ home. She will be truly missed and forever remembered for many things as well for her quote that goes “Yo quiero a quien me quiere”. You are now pain free abuela and with your beloved husband and sons always in our hearts we love you.
