Kay Garfield (62) returned to Heavenly Father due to a car accident on March 10, 2017. She was born February 15, 1955 in panguitch, Utah to Rudger and Velora Schurtz.
She was the youngest of 5 children.
She married Daniel Garfield on March 9 1973. They were sealed together in the Provo LDS temple on March 9, 1974. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Kay had a big heart and loved everyone. She has many unofficial children and family members and we all loved her and we knew we were loved by her. Kay was born and raised in the LDS church and she has served in many callings even with all of her health issues, she did her callings to the best of her ability. Kay loved being a part of the local Renaissance group, she spent countless hours making outfits for many people in their group. She was very creative and she loved doing all kinds of crafts to give away. Kay is survived by her husband Dan, her 3 sons Jeramy, Duane and Jae, 6 grandchildren, 3 siblings (Duane, Barbara, Dennis) and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She is proceeded in death by her parents Rudger and Velora Schurtz and her oldest brother Sherrel Schurtz.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 17. The viewing starts at 12 noon, the funeral service starts at 1 at the Gateway Wyoming LDS Chapel located on 4040 E Wyoming Avenue. She will be buried at the Woodlawn cemetery (1500 las vegas blvd) at 3pm.
