Kevin W. Smith

Kevin W. Smith

UntitledKevin W. Smith fell asleep and became an angel on November 11, 2014, a beautiful man gone much too soon. He was the most loving, happy, personable, faithful and loyal person, to family, friends, employers & employees. His passion was cooking a “great meal.” He had an extremely positive and philosophical outlook on life. Two of his favorite quotes from Flavia & Lord Chesterfield respectively, are as follows: “And what is as important as knowledge asked the mind, caring and seeing with the heart answered the soul.’’

“Any job worth doing is a job worth doing well.”

Kevin loved and appreciated nature, hiking in the woods, in awe of the beautiful landscapes, trees, mountains, waterfalls, and the ocean. He lived in Las Vegas in his final days, but also lived in many other states since his childhood: born in CT, he also lived in MA, TX, MN, Cape Cod, GA, and CA until a job offer in NV. He was an accomplished Master Electrician.

He leaves his mother, Brenda Georgini Smith in CA, his brother Gregory Smith in MN, his step father, Ed Wakelee, (his father Russell Smith who predeceased him when Kevin was only 16), his Aunt, Deborah Georgini Beaupre, cousins Christopher & Michael Beaupre (their respective wives & children, whom he adored), his fiancé & love, Kalantha (Kala) Boyes who lived with him in Las Vegas, NV, many friends, & acquaintances. His customers loved him for his friendly outgoing nature & helpfulness.

No words will convey our grief and loss – we miss him so much, he will always be in our hearts & minds. We will always love you, and have wonderful memories.

I did not know Kevin personally but I knew of him though his Mother Brenda and with her words I felt as if I knew Kevin. Brenda spoke of her Son Kevin with Pride , Loving Memories, and how Proud she was of him. Kevin will be missed but will always live on in his Mother’s heart. Rest in Peace.

What a wonderful picture of Kevin. I was introduced to Kevin when he came to visit his Mother. What a nice young man. Here is a little poem for his memory.
If his parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
    A friendship shared a laugh a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, you will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
For he would wish you sunshine of tommorrow
His life was full He savored much
    Good times, good friends,
    A loved ones touch.
His time on earth was all to brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
In knowing God wanted him now
    He has set him free.

Kevin was my manager here at Uhaul with Kala, since there was only four of us working in the office we all got pretty close, like a mini uhaul family. Kevin has taught me the most powerful things in life, said some words that will never leave me. He told me many times that he wanted to be remember for the outspoken person that he was, and his lessons he wanted to pass on, and to me I remember him for that and so much more. I learned how to live my life in a new way since I met Kevin. He is very much missed, and every day is a challage without him but one he would’ve pushed me to succeed. He will always be in my heart and mind.

Thank you Morgan for your kind words, I know that Kevin is pushing all of us to succeed!

I had the privilege of meeting Kevin a few months back through my granddaughter Morgan. My first impression was that he was a jovial and happy person who greeted you with open arms. We carried on a lengthily conversation and I admired his knowledge of his electrical experiences. I only wish I had more time to get to know him better. I know he’s looking over all of his loved ones. Hopefully we will be able to meet again.

    • Kala Posted November 29, 2014 3:48 am

Thank you both for everything, I am so glad you were able to meet Kevin.
