Lawana Bingham Lamoreaux

Lawana Bingham Lamoreaux passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 31, 2011. She was born on July 24, 1945 in Tucson, Arizona, to Elmer Jacob Bingham and Blanche Adalee Holaway Bingham.

On May 8, 1965, Lawana was sealed for time and all eternity to A. Glade Lamoreaux in the St. George temple. In the years that followed, the Lord blessed their union with five children: Darren, Brian, Michael, Kristin and Jared.

Lawana’s first love was her family and she stayed at home many years raising her children. She was a loving mother who taught her children to work hard, serve others and love the Lord. When she was not at home with her family, Lawana spent many hours performing service to others through her callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary, Young Women’s, and Relief Society sharing her many talents. Lawana was known for her compassion and was always willing to listen and share her wisdom.

In later years, Lawana went to work as a substitute teacher and then as an office manager for the Clark County School District at several Henderson area schools. She loved working with children and teenagers and influenced many students and teachers through her work. Her co-workers always enjoyed stopping at her desk to visit and Lawana loved telling others about her family, especially her grandchildren.

Lawana is survived by her sweetheart of 46 years, Glade, and four of their children: Brian (Lorie) of Hurricane, UT, and Michael (Jennifer), Kristin, and Jared (Callie) all of Henderson, NV; two brothers, Jay Bingham and Gary Bingham of Las Vegas, NV; her sister, Debbie Smallwood of Alamo, NV; and 16 grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents; sisters, Lavina and Shirlene; and oldest son, Darren (Laurel).

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. at the Henderson Nevada Eldorado Stake Center, 801 Arrowhead Trail, 89002, with visitation held from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M.
