Leora Spackman Hale
Leora Spackman Hale quietly left this life on December 8, 2014 to rejoin her Heavenly Father and the love of her life Jack Hale, her husband of 63 years. Leora started her life on November 9, 1931 in Trenton, UT. She was raised in Trenton and attended Cache Valley High School. Leora’s siblings are the late Ronald Merrill, Cora Denning of Logan and Darrell Merrill of Trenton.
Leora was married to the late Jack Hale in 1950 and they moved to Reno where they lived for 35 years and raised their two daughters Patricia Krause of Reno, Nevada and Sherry Fitzpatrick of Puyallup, Washington. Our family enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating and all of these outings were organized and made fun by Mom. When Leora and Jack retired they traveled extensively enjoying the beauties of the United States. They settled in Chula Vista, CA and eventually relocating to Vista, CA. With Jack’s death in 2013 Leora moved back to Logan to live with Cora and Scott Denning, her loving sister and brother-in-law.
She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in her church and filled many callings of her own as well as supporting her husband in his callings.
She loved her family and was always willing to play a game of UNO or put together a puzzle with any of her family down to the littlest toddler. Our family pictures and memories are filled with her carrying one of the youngest babies on her hip from her own to her great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a great listener for these little ones and for the big ones too.
Leora will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her but we know she is in a better place doing the Lord’s work as she did in life side by side with her eternal companion.
