Louise (Sue) Andrews

Louise (Sue) Andrews, of Henderson, NV, formerly of Newton, MA, passed away May 11, 2020 at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Andrews of Newton, MA. She was the loving mother of MaryEllen Doran and her husband Dick of Henderson, NV. She was the adoring grandmother of Caitlin Scipioni and her husband Kane of Austin, TX, and Courtney Powers and her husband Dave of Whitinsville, MA, and a wonderful great-grandmother to Rylie Powers.

Sue was born in Sudbury, MA and graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Tom Andrews and they moved to Newton, MA. Prior to Tom’s early passing, they enjoyed their time on Cape Cod at Craigville Beach and vacationing in Bermuda. She devoted her time to her daughter, granddaughters and great-granddaughter and cherished the time she spent with them. At the age of 86, she moved with her daughter and son in law to Nevada where she marveled at the mountains and abundance of warm sunshine. She was an avid reader but mostly Sue loved the outdoors; walking her dogs, and later her daughter’s dogs brought her tremendous joy. She was a friend to all with a memorable smile and a warm hug. She made many new friends in Henderson, but never forgot her childhood friends, college friends, Newton neighbors and friends, and kept in touch with everyone.

In accordance with the CDC’s current restrictions on gatherings due to Covid-19, her burial will be private by La Paloma Funeral Services, of Las Vegas, and Brasco Funeral Home, of Waltham, MA. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank The Lakes Senior Living for their compassion and care during her last two months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA and the American Heart Association.

What a delight it was to get to know and become Sue’s friend here in Nevada. Though all-too-brief, our kinship was strong and we were sisters of the heart. Miss you sweet friend.
