While at home on the evening of 8/20/2013, Lupe W. Melendrez lost his life unexpectedly due to natural causes. He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Janet Sue; his daughters Trisina Melendrez, Jonnie Collupy, Sunny Daniels, Katheryn Maddox, and Charlene Schwarz; and his beloved grandchildren. He was a very patriotic man, who was proud of his service to his country. As a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps – 1st Battalion 9th Marines, he served three tours in the Vietnam War. He was awarded many medals including the Purple Heart and received an honorable discharge in 1968. He was an experienced truck driver and devoted over 30 years to his profession. He enjoyed his years of retirement living in the city of Las Vegas, where he always dreamed to be. He will be greatly missed – although he is gone, he will never be forgotten. A military honors funeral will be held at Southern Nevada Memorial Cemetery (1900 Veterans Memorial Dr. Boulder City, NV 89005) on Monday September 30, 2013 at 2:00P.M.
