Manuel Cabalan
In the early morning of Thursday, August 14th 2014, from home Manuel
peacefully journeyed to our Lord God. He graced all of us with warmth and
kindness for 76 years here on earth.
He spent an honorable 2 years of military service with the Marines. Manuel
then dedicated 33 years of civil service at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard
and Mare Island. After retirement he continued to be active and enjoyed
working another 13 years at Sunset Station. Throughout his life, he
emulated a soothing and calm demeanor, kind words, and an easy smile to
greet all he met. No one was ever a stranger to him. His natural musical
talent for playing the guitar and singing was heartfelt. Manny enjoyed his
quiet moments in the backyard, and the hummingbirds regularly hovered
close to him. Humble origins from his hometown of Kealakekua, Hawaii, he
perpetuated the spirit of aloha. This was evident with his easygoing spirit,
and now heaven has gained another brighter light.

We will miss you Uncle Manny! You were such a kind hearted, calm man with a great spirit! I remember Uncle Manny used to watch Tiff and I, along with our other elementary school friends as we play around the house and be silly. You will forever be in our hearts.
