Margaret Stetson

Margaret Stetson of Reno, NV passed away on October 26, 2022, surrounded by her husband, Dan Stetson, her twelve children, many of her 26 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Margaret was an accomplished horsewoman, teacher, cottage artisan and fiber artist. She was passionate about riding and showing horses for much of her younger years before she shifted her focus to raising and teaching her children.

She was our teacher, our Girl Scout leader, our taxi to dance, 4-H, sports, youth groups, and all the other activities that her children partook in. She was tenacious, vigilant and relentless in her demand for things to be done right. She taught her children and grandchildren ethics and morals and how to be in service to others. She loved babies and animals like no one else could and had an intuitive ability that allowed for her to sense things in the present that were to happen in the future. She taught her family to question everything, making a whole tribe of conscientious objectors.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Bette, her eldest daughter, Angelia, and her infant son, Josiah. She is survived by her husband, Dan, brother Mark, children Jamie (Steve), Sarah (Sean), Rebekah (Adrian), John  (Jaime), Elizabeth (Gabriel), Zachary (Raina), Emily (Brennen), Gabrielle, Esther (Matt), Joseph (Morgan), and Rachel (Rudy), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her husband, Dan, was her faithful caregiver through her illness, unwavering in his dedication, just as he has been to all of their children and grandchildren and Margaret his entire life.

A funeral service will be held on 11/3/2022 at 12:00pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Reno, NV.
