Marguerite Ann Murray

Marguerite Ann Murray, daughter of Julian and Marguerite Martinez, was born March 15, 1929 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. In her childhood, she lived in a small town where a lot of her  extended family lived. Her dad was a forest ranger and she loved the outdoors, riding horses and school. She was the oldest of five children. She loved having two sisters, Phyllis and Irene (Reno) and then later had two brothers, Joseph (Bo) and Denny, who she loved being a second mother to. Peggy was the Salutatorian of her graduating class. She was in plays in school and was very active. She loved working and babysat, cleaned houses and worked at a drug store.

Peggy moved to Herlong, CA after she graduated to live with her Uncle Emmett and Aunt Betty.  She attended Lassen Junior College. She graduated as a stenographer. She met Ben Murray through some friends of her cousin, Jerry. They were inseparable after that.

Marguerite (Peggy) Martinez married Benjamin Murray on June 25, 1949. They had three children—Russell Dean, Kathy Ann and Brenda Lynn. The family lived in Susanville, Herlong, Westwood, Quincy, and Hawthorne.

She loved sewing and taught her daughters to sew at a young age. She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Peggy is survived by her son, Russell, daughters~Kathy (Scott) and Brenda (Robert). Their grandchildren from Russ~ Justin (Christy), Kathy~ Staci (Amy), Scott (Julie) and Kim (Keith),  Brenda~ Nate (Allie), Brad and Kandice (Justin). Great grandchildren Justin~ Ryan, Elias and Lucas. Staci~ Jack and Kashtyn, Scott~ Allie, Emily, Rachel and Ashley, Kim~ Talisa and Kira.  Nate~ Lance, Shyanne, Burgandi, Natilee and Whitney, Kandice~ Vincent, Shelby and Juliette.

Preceding her in death: her husband, Ben and her parents-Julian and Marguerite, granddaughter-Traci (Kathy),
grandson’s, Robert JR. and Lance (Brenda),Dean Murray (Russ).
