Melvin H. Ludwig Jr., 84, of Las Vegas, passed away October 22, 2013. Mel loved serving his country and retired as a Master Sargent from the Air Force. He was then employed by NASA at Cape Kennedy. He was honored to have had the privilege of working on the flight that landed the first men on the moon. In 1971 he fulfilled a dream of owning an auto garage where he worked with his sons. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings, including a mission in the London Temple. Mel spent many years involved in scouting, temple work and his family’s genealogy.

Mel is survived by Eileen, his wife of 64 years; and their six children, 24 grandchildren and 30 great grand-children. Viewing will be Saturday November 2, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Walnut & Carey LDS Chapel, 2295 Walnut Road. Services begin at 11:00 am. Mel will be interred in the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd, Boulder City, NV, at a later date.
