Nancy Veronica Torres 

January 13, 1951- December 30, 2021 

Nancy Veronica Torres, age 70, joined our Heavenly Father on December 30, 2021. She was surrounded by loved ones including her one and only son Dwight Yorke. She was born on January 13, 1951 in Belize City, Belize. An independent spirit at heart, she left Belize and ventured to the United States in 1968.  She met her late husband, Irving Yorke, in California, where they married and eventually settled in Chicago. Nancy worked for Hazel Lowe’s Boutique as a retail manager for over 20 years.  She later retired to be a full time grandma in Las Vegas, Nevada.   

She is survived by her only son Dwight, daughter-in-law, Glory Jane and their two children, Arianna and Mason.  she is survived by her siblings, sisters Ofeni Vicky Cacceres and Teresita Rodriguez, brothers George Torres and Eden Torres.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, the late Luciano and Transita Torres and her sisters Marie Perrera, Cruzita Blanco and Judith Caceres.   

When not doting on her grandchildren, Nancy enjoyed watching telenovelas, watching football and sports, sewing, sight seeing, dancing and indulging in mango cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.  She also loved sending cards and would never miss sending out Christmas or birthday cards to her loved ones, including her siblings in Belize. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and was loved by all who knew her.   

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life and pay final respects. Church services will take place on Friday, February 4th at 11:30 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church located at 5830 Mesa Park Dr., Las Vegas, Nevada.  Burial services will take place at Palm Eastern Cemetery located at 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada at 3:00 pm.
