Antoinette Harriet Martin, 63, of Illinois, passed away on September 17, 2026, leaving behind a world a little brighter—and certainly a lot more interesting—because she was in it.

Antoinette found joy in life’s simple pleasures: tending to an overgrown garden, working her way through a good crossword book, getting lost in a vampire novel, and making the kind of bad puns that were impossible not to smile at.

Above all, Antoinette will be remembered for her caring nature and the love she showed to those around her. She was someone you could always talk to, someone who genuinely cared for others, and, most importantly, a really cool mom. Her warmth, humor, and one-of-a-kind spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Antoinette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Lee Martin.

She is survived by her family, Anthony and Alyssa Zawisza; her granddaughter, Athena Zawisza; Josephine Zawisza; and her grandchildren, Veronica Rigg, Elizabeth Kirchner, and William Zawisza, as well as many other cherished family members and friends.

In accordance with Antoinette’s wishes, those who knew and loved her are encouraged to honor her memory by opening a cherished book, turning its pages, and allowing themselves to become lost in a story. In doing so, may they remember Antoinette’s love of reading, her imagination, and the many memories she leaves behind.

Antoinette will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her, and may she rest in peace.
