Arthur Winfield Ritter
March 5, 1944 – March 12, 2026
Born in Madison, Wisconsin to Winfield and Jean Ritter, Arthur is survived by his younger brothers, Gregory (wife Barbara) and Malcolm (wife Jane); his wife of 58 years, Georgia; and his daughter, Elizabeth Walsh and grandson Connor; and daughter Merideth Aurs and granddaughters Andrea Aurs (husband Leo Citelly), and Katelyn Aurs-Kaku (husband Bryce Kaku).
Arthur served in the United States Air Force for 26 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel at Nellis AFB. Outside of work, he enjoyed many different activities that benefitted others. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of the ROTC at the University of Minnesota, and an elder at Grace Presbyterian Church. Art also worked as a book editor in his retirement, mentoring fiction and nonfiction authors from around the world.
Art will be remembered by those who knew him and loved him for his admiration of a bad pun (the groan-ier, the better), a good dad joke (if there ever were such a thing), and the debatability of the true meaning of nearly any Bible or literary passage (he did love a deep discussion).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Art's home away from home, Grace Presbyterian Church. 702.384.4554
