Mr. Christopher David Leige, LMHC

Mr. Christopher David Leige was born the second of three children to Mr. David Lee Leige Jr. and Mrs. Wilma Greenhill Leige on March 17, 1967, in Long Island, NY.

Shortly after Christopher’s family relocated to Montgomery, AL, he graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1985 and joined the United States Marine Corps. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Justice & Public Safety from Faulkner University in 1990. He worked for Alliance Family Services in Reno, NV, as a mental health counselor for many years. He met and married the love of his life, Ms. Helen Chin, before moving to the west coast.

Christopher attended Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL. He dedicated his life to the Lord and was affiliated with the SBN Ministry/Hagee Ministry.

Christopher went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 5, 2024, after an extended illness. Christopher was preceded in death by his brother, Richard R. Leige and his parents David & Wilma Leige.

He leaves to cherish in his memory a loyal and dedicated wife of 33 years, Helen Chin Leige.

Sisters: Tiffany (James) Carnegia of Montgomery, AL, and Katherine Leige Wooten of Lumberton, NC.

Brother: Ottis Dale Leige of New Orleans, LA.

Three Brothers in Christ: Larry Lee Leige, Carlos Livingston, and Michael Leige.

Sisters-in-Law: Rita Chin, Lily Chin, Lucy Chin, Theresa Hoh and Sherralyn Freeman Harris.

Brothers-in-Law: Augustine Chin, and Alex Hoh.

Nieces: Kiara Freeman, Khalilah Freeman, Mia Oliva Scott, Victoria Lynn Tyler, Caroline Chin Geyler (Eric), Julin Chin Moroney (Seamus), Amelia Chin, Shona Chin, Imelda Chin (Nigel), and Melisa Hoh (Johnny).

Nephews: Paul Rashad Freeman, Richard Leige Jr., Brenton Jordan, Gabriel Carnegia, Bryan Wong, Melvin Wong, Oliver Chin, Ronald Hoh, and Nicholas Alan Jones.

Aunts and Uncles: Richard (Ivory) Greenhill of Gadsden, TN, Walter Greenhill of Long Island, NY, William (Audrey) Hopkins of Wetumpka, Katherine Lindsey of Bartlett, TN, Lynette Montgomery of Brownsville, TN, and Jewel Leige, of McDonough, GA.

Extended family members and friends: Pastor Anita Leige, Charles Hicks, Laverne Greenhill, Talesha Jordan, Dr. Christian Conte, Sara Deerbarn, Marcy Brandner, Mike Sanderfer and finally Kika.

Who was Christopher?

Christopher was a kind and gentle soul. He was not only my partner in life but also the best friend anyone could ask for! His job as a counselor was a gift to all, especially his clients. He spent more time with them than anyone I could think of. There was no time limit in his books. If they needed him, he was there! He enriched their lives with positive energy and optimistic thinking. He showed them how taking responsibility, giving forgiveness and showing kindness are essential elements to a successful life. His kind soul and loyal love have taught me so much during this journey. Thank you God, for blessing me with an amazing Husband.
