Clayton Lamond Leavitt Obituary (1940 - 2024)

Clayton Lamond Leavitt was born December 20, 1940 in St. George, UT, the seventh of eight children to Calvin Willard and Elva Hughes Leavitt and passed April 2, 2024, from natural causes. He spent his growing up years in Bunkerville and Mesquite, NV in very humble circumstances. He graduated from Las Vegas High School. He married his true love, Nyla Henrie, Sept. 14, 1962 in the St. George Temple. They built a loving home in Las Vegas where they welcomed and raised 7 children. Clayton worked as a mover, as an owner of Vegas Air Freight, and with the Clark County Fire Department, from where he retired in April, 2006. Clayton was known for his humility, kindness, tender heart, service, gratitude, love of family, and his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. He showed this love through his quiet service as a temple worker at the Las Vegas Temple from 2009-2014. He loved his family and spent a lifetime of service to them and others. He was loved by all. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nyla Henrie Leavitt; children, April (Randy), Lamond, Robyn, Jeff (Heather), Tracey and Emma (David); siblings, Calvin (Patsy) and Harvey (Karen); 24 grandchildren, and 23 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Renay, Norma, Mary Lou, Pauline and Helena; sons Bryon and Rick; and great grandson Byron. Visitation will be 1- 1:45pm Fri., April 12, with services following, all at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2497 Cozy Hill Cir., Henderson, NV 89052.
