Las Vegas, NV
On April 13,2024, at the age of 75, I lost my beloved Mr. Kuangchung Tang, in Las Vegas NV, where he was a resident. Kuangchung passed before my eyes in the hospital of several health complications, a gentleman with a beautiful and kind soul. A dedicated retired chemist who worked in Area 51 and agent orange areas. He worked tirelessly with hopes and of learning advanced helpful skills for his native country China and the benefits of China’s historical knowledge for his new adopted country, the United States of America. Kuangchung was a triathlete in China and would cycle 200 miles to give a helping hand. Kuangchung loved fishing and also loved to hike, climb mountains, such as Mount Charleston and Red Rock Canyon. Most of all Kuangchung was a wonderful chef (at least in my eyes.)
Kuangchung mentioned that before he met me, and in the late 1980’s during his PhD course at Utah State, he had wanted to assist/mediate when the Tiananmen Square riots happened, so he booked a flight to fly there. The authorities in Japan informed Mr. Tang that his life was in jeopardy if he continued on his mission and that he could not continue the flight to China. Mr. Tang was accommodated at a 5-star Hotel in Tokyo where he gave a press conference and afterwards was on a plane back to the United States. Mr. Tang was one of 30 counselors to assist the Chinese students to come to the United States to get their degrees in the American Universities and to make a difference back in their own country.
Kuangchung enjoyed listening to classical music, particularly the violin, (my specialty since 2 & ½ years old). I am and was blessed with the time I had with Kuangchung and most of all getting to know him. He was a wonderful, loving, caring and considerate man and I look forward to the time when we will meet again. His life was/is a blessing to me and many others.
Kuangchung love for his only child Huaming, a lawyer in California and Nevada who passed before himself, was with pride. And the love for his own parents, who also passed before Mr. Tang, was immense. He loved and had respect for Guangwen (his older sister), Guangya and Guang-hi (his two younger brothers), and their family members. Kuangchung tremendously loved and dearly respected my now-deceased parents and myself (an only child).
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (https://pancan.org). This is to honor the significant other of the RN who saved Kaungchung’s life in 2020. She unfortunately passed in 2023 from pancreatic cancer.
Thank you, Kuangchung.
With love and gratitude, Yurika❣️
