Loraine Merrill Alpert Obituary (1949 - 2022)

Loraine Merrill Alpert, age 72 passed away peacefully on Jan 30, 2022 at St. Mary’s Regional MedicalCenter in Reno, Nevada. She was born in Norfolk, VA on Feb 26,1949, the daughter of Harold P. and Lois D. Merrill. She attended Michigan State University for several years where she met and married Jay S. Alpert on Jan 22 1978 (deceased). She finished her schooling in San Fransisco with Nursing and Respiratory Therapy Degrees, where she served the health care industry. Loraine loved animals, her favorite being turtles, but most of all her little cocker spaniel. She was an avid crafter, and always had a quilting, knitting or embroidery project active in various stages. Loraine will be sorely missed by 4 sisters; Laura D. (Gary) Blades of Plymouth MI., Lynette L. (Joseph) Fioroni of Rochester Hills MI., Lois M. Merrill, of Jackson MI, Lisa L. Spears (Michael) of Byfield MA., and 1 brother, Harold P. Merrill Jr., of Tacoma WA. Loraine leaves behind 12 nieces and nephews, and 5 great nieces and nephews. At her request Cremation has taken place at LaPaloma of Reno, NV.
