Noel Norbert Martinez Obituary (1947 - 2014)

Was born in Embudo, NM on August 19, 1947 to the late Roberto & Delphina Martinez. Noel is preceded in death by his wife Rhonda June Martinez, his son Noel N. Martinez, Jr. and his parents Roberto & Delphina Martinez and his brother Leland Martinez. Noel is survived by his daughter Tracy Ann Martinez and her son Jerome Webster. Also survived are Noel’s daughter-in-law, Elma Martinez, grandson Vicente and granddaughter Sofia Martinez. Also survived are stepsons Albert, Benjamin Durazo / wife-Debbie Durazo- children: Joshua, Ashley, and Samantha Durazo. Step son- Richard Durazo/ wife- Laura Durazo-children; Rayaunna, Leilla. Noel also has his siblings; Stephanie Rivera-Taos, NM, Carol Jean Franklin-Manalapan, NJ, Lloyd Martinez (wife Judy) Cheyenne, WY, Patricia Torres (husband Robert) Pratt, KS, Ronald Martinez-Laguna,NM, Victor Martinez (wife Raelyn) Las Vegas, NM, Raymond Martinez-Toas, NM, Therese Perez (husband Patrick) Taos, NM, Edwin Martinez (partner Michael Krupinski) Las Vegas, NV and Robina Shelton (husband Ed) Valdez, NM. Noel is also survived by his 1st wife Barbara Rasmussen-Santee, CA. Noel grew up in Cheyenne WY, graduated from Cheyenne East High School in 1964. Entered the US Navy after high school and was stationed in Okinawa during the Viet Nam War. He later returned to the US and was stationed in San Diego, there he met Barbara Sanchez. Noel was discharged from the Navy and he and Barbara were married in Cheyenne, WY in 1969. They had their children Noel Jr., and Tracy. They moved to Las Vegas, NV around 1976, Tracy was born in Las Vegas, NV in 1977. Noel and Barbara parted ways and divorced. Noel later met Rhonda Durazo in Las Vegas, NV. Noel and Rhonda married in 1986 in Las Vegas. Rhonda passed away in 2006. Noel worked in the casinos as a dealer working all games, later became a pit boss and floor manager. Noel later worked for Station Casinos as a surveillance member until he retired in 2012.
