Sherman Maurice “Elliott” Ford, Jr., was born on October 10, 1967 in Long Beach, California to the late Lillie Mae and Sherman Ford, Sr. He was raised by his Grandmother, Annie Laura Whitaker, “Madea”.
Madea loved Sherman and raised him with a stern hand. Almost every summer, Madea and Sherman traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to visit family, on the Trailways Bus (which later turned into Greyhound).
