Raymond Martin Preis

Ray - CopyRaymond Martin Preis, Sr., 84 of Las Vegas, Nevada (formerly of San Diego, Ca and Lawrence Twp., NJ) passed away on Sunday, February 9th after a brave struggle with Lymphoma. Mr. Preis was born and raised in Irvington, New Jersey and served in both the US Navy and the US Army during the time of the Korean War. He spent most of his working life in the aircraft and aerospace industry. Mr. Preis was involved in projects that helped explore the surface of the moon through the Ranger satellite program, helped build the Delta rocket boosters used in the Gemini manned space program and worked on the design of several components used in the Space Shuttle and Apollo programs. Mr. Preis was also a pilot of small planes and loved to play golf.
 
 He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, two sons, Jean and Raymond Jr. stepson Miky Telbis and two daughters, Kathy Pompe and Mary Ruth Logue. He also had eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
